“If it wasn’t for the mist we could see your home across the bay," said Gatsby. "You always have a green light that burns at the end of your dock." Daisy put her arm through his abruptly but he seemed absorbed in what he had just said. Possibly it had occurred to him that the colossal significance of that light had now vanished forever. Compared to the great distance that had separated him from Daisy it had seemed very near to him, almost touching her. It had seemed as close as a star to the moon. Now it was again a green light on a dock. His count of enchanted things had diminished by one.”
Haven't done a children's story in traditional media in a while. I choose this project for it cus it had a lot of pages and the elements I wanted to play with. Animals, tribes, fire, dark nights. It turned out to be a challenge and lots of fun.
Didn't realize till a few days ago that Apple had ended the service of mobile me. So my old website was down for about a week already. What a bummer! :( Good thing is now I'm forced to update my website and recognized stuff. After 2 days of working, the new site is now up and running!
It's been quite a while since I did a landscape. This one is personal, and I finally had time in between projects to really sit down and planned it through. It's like rediscovering something familiar with a new perspective. I started with watercolor and switched to charcoal, acrylic and pastel. Just to try out how they work together. Maybe I'll even play with some gouache and ink later. So far I'm having a lot of fun :)
My second story The Great Battle of the Kiddie Pool is out on FarFaria this weekend. This is a very fun project. It's about two kids playing in the kiddie pool and let their imagination take them to a great adventure on the sea. Read more about the story on FarFaria's blog
